A Light in the Echos of Darkness

I feel compelled to write something, do something, say something about the world today, and recent events, you all know what I mean.  But, I am at a loss.  Because I feel helpless, even though I know I'm not.  What I do know is I will spend the rest of my life at least trying to bring some peace to unrest and healing to others trauma.  As a Christian, it's all that is in Jesus that I love.  Every day, I aspire to what he taught about non-judgement and love.  Still, I fall short every day; and more often than I like, I miss the mark in struggling with my own Ego.  Yet, I keep on.  I invite everyone to use social media, FB, and other platforms wisely and judiciously, instead of perpetrating ugliness and division.  Civility and respect have been lost (especially in politics), and two wrongs never make a right.  Your neighbor is YOUR neighbor.  The President is OUR President.  WE, yes, we are all in this thing called, Life, together, as people, as human beings.  We only have THIS moment, to share with each other, and no other.

So ... Please practice self-control in your thoughts and actions. My parents and grandparents lived and preached self-control, which seems so lost in society today.   Hiding behind a phone screen makes it too easy to take others to task. It matters what you bring to the world - your energy, your attitude are contagious - please make it kind and considerate, be a light in the echos of the darkness in the sad events of our day.

It's All About Change - No If's, And's or Butt's About It

It's All About Change - But, But, But ... Get Off Your Butt About It!

Change means adapting, finding what doesn't work, what does work, and then applying something new to what doesn't -- maybe just to see what happens.

Change means getting out of your comfort zone, because it's a dead zone, like the dead zone of excuses.  And a dead zone is a dead life.

I recently discovered just how deadly my comfort zone had become -- it was running, and thus ruining, my life, and I didn't even know it.  The familiar had become a unhealthy, but known quantity that crept up on me.  It was a huge dichotomy -- comfort was creating a big pain in my butt, and I had gotten so used to it being there, that I just kept sitting on it unconsciously, complaining day-after-day -- a knee jerk reaction to life's unwieldy circumstances.

Pain can be a comfort zone, just like excuses, because it becomes familiar, like a bad friend who keeps calling to complain and out of habit you answer the phone, as much as you hate the interaction.

Let the pain in your life go, it's ultimately high maintenance.  Try something new or different, take a risk just of for the heck of it -- just to see what will happen -- don't take yourself too seriously.  Maybe you'll be surprised.  Maybe you'll get rejected.  Maybe you'll find love.  But whatever happens, it will be new and move you up out of your current morass, or maybe it will just move your dead ass!  Whatever the case, it will be good for you either way.  It will make life an adventure, and worth living once again.

Payoff?  Your butt will stop hurting!

Inspirational Quotes

This section is devoted to inspirational quotes I've written over the years.

  • "The threads of your life will come together to weave the quilt of your business and life. Positive threads will bring you joy, and the seemingly negative threads will bring life lessons necessary for later events, yet unforeseen. Each thread is necessary, as we are to one another, for creating the greater whole, for who you are and who you want to become."  (2005)
  •   "When you come from a place of perfect peace, you don't find flaws or faults or negativity, you only see that which needs to be transformed into something greater and the struggle to attain that. In a place of perfect peace, compassion replaces self-righteousness, and forgiveness replaces judgement, thereby planting the seeds for continual transformation from both within and without."  (2019)
  •   "The Wise person takes their key weakness and turns it into a strength." (2019)

Note:
Spirituality is not religious, rather it draws on the many teachings of individuals who sought to improve humanity. It is a, "Take what you like, and leave the rest.", broad brush approach to encompassing a wide range of human experience. My role is neither to foist any one belief system on anyone or create converts. In my writings, I draw on many modalities.

Mid-Summer Mystic Update - July 16 Full Moon

Full Moon & Mercury Retrograde Energies

Tonight! The MOON!! Everyone get out and look at this amazing full moon!  Transcendent!

The Full Moon in Capricorn will be all about balancing the commitment we have to our families and career. Something was building inside us, and now will be the time when the cosmos’ energy fairly demands we let it out. During the following two weeks, we are going to discover what all this means for all of us. We cannot sit on the feelings we have, but we should express them.

This illuminates the conflict that exists between direction and roots. With the Moon, there will be full symbolic illumination happening in our lives. But, these new revelations and feelings will be emotional. It will be the time of expressing ourselves and letting things out of our system.

From the 7th of July until the 31st of July, the planet Mercury is in retrograde.  If we accidentally email the wrong individual, or things get lost, or every single thing seems to go wrong, think that Mercury is in retrograde.

All manner of communication and plans will be disrupted, so prepare for that in advance.  Now is a good time to meditate, do inner work, as in dream work, and reflect on future goals.

Luna Enlightenment

This day!  This night!   This place!
That I should be here
with you all
Right here!  Right now!
Together
This gift we have together
THIS Moment!
Blending in to the next,
and the next, and the next.
Full Moon SPEAKS!
Asking questions long in to the night!
Together this the time we ALL share together
HONOR it, in each encounter with one another
Without judgment!

The Moon asks us tonight to see all as One shining light!
The Gift of light you bring to the planet Earth,
like the light of the Full Moon,
Bows to be honored.
Honor it!  In yourself.
Shine it on all who see you.
Hang!  Like the moon this night!
A beacon that we should all share in that light together.
One, no separation, no judgment.
Only different angles of the same Light!
Then Enlightenment!

Mysticism & Psychology

The Mystical Arts & Energy Psychology

“Now I realize that it isn’t the miracle that creates the believer. Instead, we are all believers. We believe that the illusion of the material world is completely real. That belief is our only prison. It prevents us from making the journey into the unknown.” – Deepak Chopra

"To know, is not to know."  -- Cynthia Brone

This article is devoted to the Mystical Arts.  The Mystical Arts includes all genres related to spirituality, paranormal, quantum entanglement, divination, astrology, etc.  While we may not always have a scientific explanation for these practices, the mystical arts have impacted many in ways that result in dramatic life altering experiences, that often defy reason. This does not make these experiences invalid.  They are very real.  In recent years, science has come to offer solid empirical evidence for much of what the ancient mystics have known for centuries.

Because science is now validating what us "crazy" empaths have known all along, I have included this section to relay my personal experiences.  In addition, to experiencing planetary fields, I have experienced Cosmic Portals, telepathic links with people I'm in sync with, quantum entanglement synchronicity with groups of people, and most recently, the power of my own prayer to bring about a state of peace in a once violent neighborhood situation I was certain would never abate.  I did not seek out any of these experiences as one would out of curiosity, they simply manifested as I blithely bumbled along trying to follow a spiritual path of nonjudgment, while trying to develop the inner peace I so desperately sought in my outer reality.  Never the less, I have lived to see the outward manifestation of my spiritual practice (or the pain from the lack of, as well, as it so happens that I am also flawed) and I can say unequivocally that we are all connected by an invisible net of energy together; and that WE CONTROL the quality of our contribution to that net by the state of our inner being.

Now none of this is easy, and it takes time and practice and effort, and sometimes the gnashing of teeth, but I can assure you that if you spend the time to develop the rock of inner peace and nonjudgment within, eventually over time it will begin to impact those around you, like the wind eroding the mountains.  And this my friends is what it means to be TRULY FREE.  I highly recommend reading Dawson Church's, seminal book, "Mind to Matter", as a jumping off point if real peace is what you wish to create.

Rochester Public Library Health Central Website - Multi-Resource Guide w/ FREE Listings of Services such as Dental Cleanings

Health Central has partnered with the University of Rochester School of Medicine to be a location for students in the Community Health Improvement Course. All fourth-year students must take the course and spend one month at various agencies in the community. The goal of the course is for students to understand the importance of community strategies to improve population health. In addition, it increases understanding of other populations through first-hand allowing students to gain empathy. So far students have worked on marketing Health Central, identifying clinics for patrons without health insurance, created Jeopardy! style games on a variety of topics conducted blood pressure screenings and educated patrons about the importance of skin cancer screenings.

Why I Created Living Large Coaching

Living a Miraculous Life

I created this blog as a self help resource and tool for others to share what's worked for me in living a miraculous life. If you need help in doing that, I am all up for supporting you in that endeavor.

The concept and philosophy behind this venture stems from this simple truth:

"If you are lucky enough to wake up today on this side of the grave, I urge you to, "Live Large". This means living an unforgettable life beyond your wildest dreams …

Forget yesterday's woes, petty grievances, and where you might have gone wrong. Instead, find the forgiveness for yourself and others to move beyond a small life and find your deepest passion -- that place inside that moves you so deeply, so passionately that you can't stay away from it. Then cultivate that prompting and share it with the world so that others may help you, for they, too, yearn to live their dreams. The daring comes from learning to take the risk, to believe that the Universe will support you, and that yes, you are worthy of great love and a life so large that it changes the world, one star fish at a time."

Do you dare to dream?

Are You Creative?

The price you will pay in this life for being both highly intelligent AND sensitive is that you will NOTICE EVERYTHING and FEEL EVERYTHING all the time, right away, all at the same time.  It is a both a blessing and a curse.  Your journey in this life is to capture your keen intellect and empathy and contain it so that first, it serves you, and then humanity, so that you don't go stark raving MAD.

The world will always suck to one degree or another, just keep moving toward the light, and don't take yourself too seriously.

It's A New Year, A New Day, Every Day

The Power of Poetry

I'd almost forgotten about this blog and writing. Until my neighbor Gerry's death on 12/10/10 when I wrote the eulogy for his funeral. There wasn't a dry eye in the house.

When something comes naturally, it's easy to take it for granted. Writing comes easily to me. So ... I tend to overlook its power to touch others and make the world a more pleasant place.

I say this because Gerry's family was so grateful for the parting eulogy and poem I wrote about their father. They could not have expressed themselves so soon following his death -- steeped in shock and grief, the poem relieved them of the terrible burden of trying to find something meaningful to say  (Gerry's poem to be posted soon).

My words also validated their father's life in a way no one else could have. I wasn't family, and our experiences together showed them a perspective about him they hadn't seen before that left them with a sense of closure about his life.  Any transgressions Gerry may have committed were erased in my parting words about his life and our neighborly friendship.

So in reflecting on Gerry's passing this year, I've decided that I'm done with things that are really hard. Meaning - people, situations and circumstances that are high maintenance, draining, or too much darn work. Life is too short for high stress living. That's my New Year's resolution. To make my world an easier, gentler place to live in.

I hope this blog and my work do the same for you.  People need to hear words that touch their soul.  Read about my life, my stories, my words and experience, and come away with a sense of renewal, a fresh beginning - every day can become New Year's Day any time we choose.
